• Q: How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

  A: Start by raising and supporting the vehicle to work on the job. Make sure to position the hoist away from the left side fender. Keep note of the fender position when you take out the left front wheel and set it aside to install it correctly. Remove the three fasteners securing the left front wheelhouse splash shield at its rear position. Take off the Washer Pump's output hose and drain its liquid into a proper container before detaching the electrical connector. Twist and lift the Washer Pump off its base in the solvent reservoir. You should insert the Washer Pump rubber grommet into the washer solvent container before lubricating the pump body and grommet with washer fluid to help with easier installation. Push the pump body through the grommet until it reaches its correct position on the washer solvent container and then attach the electrical connector and the Washer Pump output hose. Put the vehicle into its normal position and add washer solvent to the container. Check if any fluid leaks come from the washer pumps or level sensor. Set the fender to its proper position and install the left front wheelhouse splash shield along with its fasteners (1, 2, 3).
