How to replace the secondary hood latch on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

Begin the hood secondary latch replacement process by opening the hood then detaching the front air cleaner assembly segment. Remove the secondary Hood Latch cable from the Hood Latch after disconnecting it and then use a wrench to remove the bolts that fasten the secondary Hood Latch to the front panel before extracting the secondary latch. In order to install the secondary latch place it on the front panel then install its bolts and torque them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Feed the secondary latch cable into the Hood Latch after installing the front part of the air cleaner assembly while closing the hood.
