How to replace the secondary hood latch on 2009 Cadillac XLR?

You must start by opening the hood then removing the front section of the air cleaner assembly before working on the hood secondary latch. Remove the bolt screws that hold the secondary Hood Latch to the front panel. After that disconnect the secondary Hood Latch cable from its attachment on the Hood Latch. Attach the secondary latch to the front panel keeping the bolts installed afterward by torquing them to 9 nm (80 lb in). Attach the secondary Hood Latch cable to the Hood Latch then reinsert the front section of air cleaner assembly before shutting the hood.
