2007 Chevrolet Cobalt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: What Tools Are Required to Service and Repair the Coolant Pipe at the Inlet on 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: The supply of tools must include hose clamp pliers (J 38185) for performing Coolant Reservoir maintenance with surge tank hose/pipe replacement at the inlet. Remove the surge tank cap while exercising caution because Radiator coolant temperatures could exceed boiling point pressure leading to explosive boiling behavior when the cap is removed that may cause dangerous injuries. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to relocate the surge tank inlet hose clamp before taking off the surge tank inlet hose. First remove the surge tank inlet hose from its underhood junction block bracket position then take off the air cleaner outlet resonator. Using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) unclip the surge tank inlet hose from the Fuel Rail and reposition the clamp prior to removing the hose from the engine. Begin by using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to install the surge tank inlet hose onto the engine and afterward position the clamp for hose security. Begin installation by attaching the surge tank inlet hose to the Fuel Rail followed by the air cleaner outlet resonator attachment and finishing the installation by connecting the surge tank inlet hose to the underhood junction block bracket. Using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and after installing the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank you should reposition the hose clamp to hold the hose in place.
