  A: The replacement process starts by eliminating the valve Rocker Arm cover followed by the lower Intake Manifold and subsequent removal of valve rocker arms and pushrods. Remove both lifter guide bolts and the lifter guide as your next step. Ordering the valve lifters correctly will allow you to correctly place them back where they belonged before dismantling the system. To install the lifters apply prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or its equivalent before positioning them back in their original locations. Install the lifter guide before tightening the bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) using threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or an equivalent on the lifter guide bolt threads. After applying prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) to the valve rocker arms and pushrods, replace them by reinstalling the lower Intake Manifold and valve Rocker Arm cover before checking for any possible leaks.
