Starting the intake camshaft and valve lifter replacement process requires the uninstallation of the intake camshaft position actuator. Rotating the bolts on bearing caps by one turn enables the removal of camshaft spring tension before marking these caps and extracting their bolts and caps. Start by extracting the intake camshaft without separating any roller followers or hydraulic adjusters which will need to be reinstalled together. Uninstall both roller followers on the camshaft and the hydraulic element lash adjusters. Install hydraulic element lash adjusters into the Cylinder Head bores while applying recommended lubrication. You should also apply lubrication to the valve tips. The original placement of roller followers must be preserved on the camshaft and the whole replacement of the camshaft requires replacement of its operated roller followers. Place each camshaft roller follower onto the valve stem tip along with the lash adjuster before you lubricate them for installing the intake camshaft while also lubricating it. Install the camshaft bearing caps and tighten their bolts by hand first before tightening each bearing cap bolt in three equal turns until it is seated at 10 nm (89 lb in). Install the intake camshaft position actuator as the final step.
