2007 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wheel cylinder on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?
A: Before starting Wheel Cylinder replacement you need to raise the vehicle and keep it stable. Then take off tire and wheel parts plus Brake Drum. Remove the Wheel Cylinder cap and valve before disconnecting the brake pipe from it. Then seal the exposed brake pipe. Take out the Wheel Cylinder nuts and open the top of brake shoes apart using j38400 Brake Shoe spanner and spring remover to free the Wheel Cylinder from its Brake Backing Plate position. Use the j 38400 device to open brake shoes at the top area before placing the fresh Wheel Cylinder on the Brake Backing Plate. Put in Wheel Cylinder mounting bolts and screw them tightly to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Touch the brake pipe end cap until you attach the brake pipe fitting at the Wheel Cylinder while applying 21 n.m (15 lb ft). Fit the Wheel Cylinder bleeder valve and tighten it to 8 newton-meter (71 pound-inch), followed by Brake Drum installation. After bleeding the hydraulic brake system use a wrench to install the bleeder valve cap then align the drum brakes and put on the tire and wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle.
