  A: Before working on rear disc brake pads you need to check brake master cylinder reservoir fluid. When the level crosses the midway mark between highest and lowest settings you should drain extra fluid to reach that midpoint. Lift the car while supporting it and take off both the rear wheel and tire. Insert a hand-tightened lug nut to hold the rotor in place then apply a c-clamp to push the caliper piston aside for clearance.
