2007 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?
A: In order to replace the Steering Knuckle, first lift and adequately hold the vehicle. Pull the bearing/hub assembly, take out the front lower control arm ball stud and lets out the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle. Scribe the strut to the knuckle and subsequently remove the bolts and nuts by which the strut is attached to the knuckle and then pull out the knuckle from the vehicle. For installation, align the knuckle back to the vehicle ensuring you get the bolts and nuts that plugged the strut to the knuckle by tightening them to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Next, install the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle, and also join the front lower ball stud of the control arm to the knuckle. Obtain the front wheel drive shaft bearing, reduce the vehicle, and lastly check the order of front wheel alignment and adjust when needed.
