How to Service and Repair Brake Lines Using the J 45405 Brake Line Flaring Kit on 2007 Chevrolet Malibu?

Use J 45405 Brake Pipe Flaring Kit (J 45405) while taking brake fluid safety steps and using double-walled steel brake pipes to protect against failure. First check the brake pipe area and detach it from the retainers when needed. When splitting the brake pipe choose an open straight segment and measure the replacement length accurately including flare mandates for 9.50 mm (0.374 in) on 6.35 mm (1/4 in) tube diameter pipes and 6.35 mm (0.250 in) on 4.76 mm (3/16 in) tubing. Use the J 45405 pipe cutter to cut the brake pipe straight. Use the right tool blade and remove nylon coating from one end until you see the metal surfaces. Keep the metal exposed without scratching it. Use the provided de-burring tool to chamfer both sides of the pipe then add tube nuts to the brake pipe. Clean every part of the brake pipe and J 45405 of dust. Then remove the die clamping screw and replace it with the appropriate die set inside the die cage. Place the polished end of the pipe into the dies and fasten the clamping screw. Use the mandrel to mold the flare out of the metal. Check the flare formation after assembly for proper dimensions: 6.74 to 7.10 mm for 4.76 mm pipe and 8.57 to 9.27 mm for 6.35 mm pipe. Form the new tube using a brake pipe bender and install it properly 19mm away from moving parts before securing it to the retainers. After fitting the brake lines inspect for fluid leaks when both engine runs at idle and you activate the brakes.
