How to remove and replace the brake caliper bracket on the front on 2007 Chevrolet Malibu?

Before working on the front Brake Caliper Bracket you need to hold the brake caliper in place using mechanic's wire support to keep the hydraulic brake hose attached. Separate the brake caliper from its bracket before taking out brake pads and retainers from the bracket. When you use the bracket again you must scrub the pad hardware contact areas entirely. Check if the disc Brake Pad retainers show damage in mounting tabs and webbing, rust buildup, loose mounting points, or defective assemblies for replacement. Take out the bolts securing the brake caliper mounting bracket and free it from the Steering Knuckle connection. Check if caliper bracket develops bends or cracks that force replacement. Look for normal motion in the brake caliper guide pins plus check the guide pin boots' status for tears and wear; substitute components when required. Screen the brake caliper mounting bracket to the Steering Knuckle then bolt it down using the mounting bracket bolts to 115 n.m (85 lb ft). Spray thin silicone brake lubricant onto caliper bracket pad hardware seats, then clean all Brake Pad contact areas of Brake Pad retainers before placing them on the caliper bracket. Install the Brake Pad with built-in wear sensor inboard of the rotor with its edge toward the wheel as it turns forward. Put the brake pads on the bracket later delete the support and set the brake caliper back on top the brake pads while aligning with the bracket.
