    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Lift the vehicle and put it on support stands. Then take off rear tire and wheel parts. Work a space between the upper Control Arm Bolt and carefully move it toward the front. Use mechanic's wire to keep the brake caliper steady without endangering the brake hose when removing it from the brake bracket. Take out the brake pads from both sides of the Brake Caliper Bracket and its attachment pins from the metal holder. Align the rear Control Arm Bolt ahead before taking off the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and then unpicking the brake caliper holder. Test the brake mounting pieces and Brake Caliper Bracket for damage before replacing them when you find breakage. Position the Brake Caliper Bracket before installing its bolts into the threads ensuring no standard tap usage. Then add the brake caliper mounting bracket bolts and tighten them to 115 n.m (85 lb ft). After slipping the Brake Pad retainers into place on the Brake Caliper Bracket, attach the brake pads before setting the brake caliper itself. Firmly turn the upper Control Arm Bolt to 180 n.m while reattaching the rear tire and wheel. After lowering the car seat the new brake pads against the rotor.
