Start by detaching the brake caliper from the mounting bracket without touching the hose before taking out the brake pads and pad retainers from the bracket. Before using the bracket again you must remove all particles and corrosion from contact areas. Check the disc Brake Pad retainers regularly to see if their mountings need straightening, if they show extreme rust damage, or if both attachments to the pad and mount wing wobble; replace any defective retainers. To take out the mounting bracket you must first remove its bolts then separate it from the rear axle. Check the caliper bracket for damage and bends that require replacing it. Examine the brake caliper guide pins (1, 4) for smooth movement and look at guide pin boots to see if they are torn or deteriorated; replace if needed. Attach the brake caliper mounting bracket to the rear axle by tightening the bracket bolts to 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.). Also apply high-temperature silicone brake lubricant between the mating surfaces wipe the available surface area on both Brake Pad retainers before fitting them onto the new bracket. During vehicle operation secure the Brake Pad with the sensor inside the pad structure so that its leading edge points toward the wheel rotation when the brake rotor is in front or below the disc pad position. Put the brake pads onto the bracket then take out the support to position the brake caliper onto the pads and bracket.
