Q: How to replace the front side door window regulator on 2007 GMC Envoy?
A: The replacement procedure for the front side door Window Regulator starts by removing both door trim panel components and water deflector and speaker. The regulator window carrier bolts need to be loosened and the window needs to be raised to provide support. Begin by disconnecting the electrical connector from the regulator motor then unfasten the upper 2 bolts which secure the regulator assembly to the door. Complete removal occurs by first unscrewing all three retaining bolts that hold the Window Regulator assembly to the door. The regulator assembly should then be raised up to free the upper bolts which allows you to rotate the upper portion forward. Put the regulator through the door opening onto a prepared surface then take off the upper 2 assembly bolts. To properly insert the regulator assembly place its upper 2 bolts halfway into position before sliding the assembly vertically through the door opening into the defined cavity then rotate it to zero position. Attachment of the assembly to the door sheet metal takes place by leveraging the previously positioned upper 2 bolts. Connect the bolt which maintains the door motor then tighten it to a torque setting of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Install remaining bolts which maintain the regulator assembly to the door then tighten them to 10 n.m (88 lb in). After connecting the electrical connector to the regulator motor the operator can eliminate the window support to lower the window frame onto the regulator window carrier. The installer first loosely installs the regulator window carrier bolts and operates the window to the maximum upward extent while confirming its presence in the run channels before finishing the bolt fastening to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Install the water deflector followed by the speaker and finally the door trim panel.
