2008 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the left side engine mount (2) on an AWD on 2008 Cadillac CTS?
A: You must remove the power steering gear before starting to replace the left side Engine Mount on an awd vehicle. The engine support fixture must be installed before proceeding. Proceed by taking out the lower Engine Mount retaining nut while taking care to avoid both bending the Engine Mount heat shield and distorting it. You should remove the Engine Mount combined with bracket assembly and then handle the top Engine Mount retaining nut. The Engine Mount should be removed from its position on the Engine Mount bracket. You should start by mounting the Engine Mount to the Engine Mount bracket before installing and torquing the top Engine Mount retaining nut to 80 n.m (59 lb ft). The Engine Mount and bracket assembly should be installed first and secured through the lower retaining nut at 80 n.m (59 lb ft). Complete the installation by putting back the power steering gear while taking out the engine support fixture.
