2008 Cadillac CTS Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the right side engine mount on 2008 Cadillac CTS?
A: The replacement process for the right side Engine Mount begins with vehicle elevation and support mechanism. You must first detach the right Engine Mount Bracket to remove the right side front Axle Shaft. The following step requires you to remove the retaining nuts from the upper and lower Engine Mount section. The engine support fixture needs to be used in order to lift the engine high enough to remove the Engine Mount from the vehicle. The new Engine Mount should be positioned while lowering the engine with the engine support fixture in place. Before tightening either nut the first step is to install the lower Engine Mount retaining nut and tighten it to 80 n.m (59 lb ft) then proceed with the upper Engine Mount retaining nut and also torque it to 80 n.m (59 lb ft). Lower the vehicle only after you reinstall both right side front Axle Shaft and right Engine Mount Bracket.
