• Q: How to replace the Air Inject Check Valve on 2008 Cadillac DTS?

  A: The first step to replace the Secondary Air Injection Check Valve requires removal of the fuel injector sight shield. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector which controls the secondary air injection (AIR) check valve operations. The air pipe needs to be removed from its position at the air check valve after pinching the constant tension clamp. You should proceed with removing the air check valve along with its exhaust manifold nuts before removing its bolts then finally extracting the valve. The exhaust manifold gasket used for the air check valve should be discarded while the surfaces of both gasket sealing areas need cleaning. Install a fresh air check valve on the exhaust manifold gasket before putting the air check valve into position. Fasten the air check valve to exhaust manifold nuts until they reach 9 n.m torque (80 lb in) before torquing the air check valve bolts to the same specification. First install the air pipe onto the air check valve before connecting the engine harness electrical connector to it. Place back the fuel injector sight shield during the last installation step.
