    A: Starting the process to change the left side parking brake rear cable (JL9) requires the vehicle to be raised while releasing the park brake. Begin by taking off the tire together with the wheel followed by separating the front brake cable from its connector. The replacement of the equalizer is necessary when it becomes damaged. The left rear brake cable should then be detached from the equalizer. The j 37043 tool will be used to separate the left park brake cable from its retaining bracket before removing it from the retainer. Stripping away both cables begins with extracting the left rear brake cable from its retainer before its retaining bolt can be removed. Fans of the park brake cable should slip it fully forward until the connection to the park brake actuator lever breaks free while removing the cable from the caliper . The park brake cable should be positioned into the retaining bracket which sits on the brake caliper and slid forward to pair up with the park brake actuator lever. The retaining bolt requires tightening to 6 n.m (53 lb in) then the retaining clip can be attached. After proper installation of the left rear brake cable in the retainer and retaining bracket the cable should be connected to the equalizer. The process ends with reconnecting the front brake cable in the connector before reinstalling the tire and wheel while lowering the vehicle.
