2008 Cadillac SRX Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Accumulator and replace the air conditioning refrigerant desiccant on 2008 Cadillac SRX?
A: The first step in servicing the A/C accumulator involves recovering every air conditioning refrigerant before starting the repair process. Support the vehicle using a secure mechanism before the installation process starts. Service and repair the A/C accumulator by taking away both front air deflector retainers and the front air deflector. Before extracting the desiccant bag, remove the plug and note down the PAG oil loss from the plug to verify correct total system amounts. The desiccant bag must be sleeved first followed by a lubrication of the O-ring located on the desiccant bag plug. Install the desiccant bag plug by tightening it to 2.9 N.m (26 lb in). Lower the vehicle afterward you install the front air deflector and its retainers. Refrigerant service should include oil addition followed by a vacuum process where the system gets recharged. Complete the component fitting test using the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
