- Q: How to replace the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator on 2008 Cadillac SRX?A: Begin replacement of the auxiliary air conditioning Evaporator by taking the auxiliary hvac module out of the vehicle then disposing of its seals. The auxiliary hvac module screws need removal to separate the module parts that expose the auxiliary Evaporator until both components can be removed through the removal of the auxiliary Evaporator pipe assembly bolts. The o-rings become waste material after the pipe assembly removal steps. A specified pag oil quantity should go directly into the new auxiliary Evaporator core when installed in the system. Attach the auxiliary Evaporator txv assembly to the Evaporator after installing new o-rings on its auxiliary txv assembly. Secure the auxiliary Evaporator pipe assembly bolts to the Evaporator by torquing them to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Screw the auxiliary Evaporator inside the auxiliary hvac module while securing its halves with screws that should be tightened to 1 n.m. The last step includes new auxiliary hvac module case joint seal installation before returning the auxiliary hvac module to the car.
