  A: The following necessary tools must be used when servicing the steering wheel position sensor for both Steering Angle Sensor and Steering Shaft lower bearing replacement: pivot pin remover (J 21854-01). Pivot pin remover (J 21854-01). Primary work starts by disabling sir system operations. Start by separating the Steering Column from the vehicle and its turn signal switch housing and finally remove the tilt spring. The pivot pin remover (J 21854-01) allows removal of 2 pivot pins from the Steering Column support assembly before you uninstall the boot seal. A sensor absence requires Steering Shaft seal removal together with the sensor retainer. Installments should start by taking off the sensor locator followed by removing the sensor assembly when the sensor exists. When installing the sensor without presence, first mount the sensor retainer followed by the Steering Shaft seal. For sensor presence, begin installation by first intentionally aligning the sensor assembly at the 9 o'clock position before installing the sensor locator and then adding the boot seal.
