How to Replace the A/C Hose on an LY7 Engine on 2008 Cadillac STS?

Before commencing suction hose replacement on the ly7 - gas, 6 cyl, 3.6l, sfi, v6, alum, one must recover all refrigerant from the system. You should start by removing the air cleaner assembly followed by vehicle elevation and wheel and engine splash shield removal together with the lh wheel and tire assembly. You should first remove the suction hose bolt from the compressor before lowering the vehicle. Then detach the suction hose retaining screw from the clamp or bracket. The liquid line separation from the a/c suction line bracket precedes suction hose quick connect fitting disconnect at the bulkhead to remove both the suction hose from the Evaporator core and the o-ring seals from the vehicle. New o-rings require placement inside the suction hose before connecting it to the Evaporator core and then installing the suction hose quick connect fitting. Install the suction hose retaining screw on the liquid line bracket while tightening it to 1 n.m (9 lb in). After raising the vehicle allow the suction hose to join with the compressor then fasten the retaining bolt at 9.8 n.m (87 lb in). Return the engine splash shield, lh wheel with installed tire and position the vehicle in its lowered state. Installation of the air cleaner assembly is followed by evacuating and recharging the refrigerant system and applying j 39400-a to test fittings of the component.
