How to replace the A/C Hose suction hose (LY7) in a 3.6L on 2009 Cadillac STS?

The first step to change the suction hose (LY7) in a 3.6l vehicle includes recovering all refrigerant. Begin by removing the air cleaner assembly before raising and supporting the vehicle and disconnecting the lh wheel along with its tire. Start by uninstalling the engine splash shield as well as the suction hose bolt which mounts to the compressor unit. The suction hose needs its retaining screw removed from either clamp or bracket while lowering the vehicle to disconnect the liquid line from its a/c suction line bracket. The procedure requires workers to disconnect both the suction hose quick connect fitting at the bulkhead and suction hose from the Evaporator core before removing the hose and discarding its o-ring seals. Position new o-rings on the suction hose before mounting the hose to the Evaporator core while also fitting the suction hose quick connect feature. Fit the liquid line into position before inserting the suction hose retaining screw to the bracket and tightening it to 1 nm (9 lb in). First lift the vehicle then attach the suction hose to the compressor while securing its retaining bolt with a torque of 9.8 nm (87 lb in). The engine splash shield and lh wheel and tire assembly should go back before lowering the vehicle. The last steps involve mounting the air cleaner assembly followed by evacuation and recharge of the refrigerant system until the component and its fittings are tested for leaks with j 39400-a.
