Disabling SIR (Safety Internal Restraint) System is the first thing to do to replace the Inflatable Restraint front end Sensor. Get rid of the retaining bolts at the front end of the inflatable restraint sensor and remove the sensor from the vehicle. For installation, insert the new sensor into the vehicle and ensure the adherence to a Fastener Notice to prevent vehicle damage. Secure the inflatable restraint front end sensor with retaining bolts and tighten them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Finally, enable the SIR system.
