2008 Cadillac XLR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace an Antenna Cable on 2008 Cadillac XLR?
A: The replacement process starts by taking out the right door sill plate alongside the right lock pillar trim. You need to separate the body retaining clips from the I/P wiring harness after which you need to take out the push-in retainers from the floor panel support. Desoond the antenna coaxial cable from both the radio control coaxial cable and the I/P wiring harness. Detach the antenna cable from insulation tape which runs on the hinge pillar after removing the I/P right lower insulator panel. The vehicle requires the complete removal of windshield side garnish moldings in addition to sunshades and the windshield upper garnish molding. First disconnect the coaxial cable from the front windshield antenna connector before removing tape securing the coaxial cable to the windshield frame and removing the coaxial cable from the vehicle. New tape should be used to attach the new coaxial cable to the windshield frame before positioning it in the front windshield. After connecting the coaxial cable to the front windshield antenna connector you can install the windshield upper garnish molding and sunshades followed by the windshield side garnish moldings. The coaxial cable needs attachment to insulation tape which runs along the hinge pillar before the I/P right lower insulator panel can be reinstalled and the I/P wiring harness push-in retainers need to be secured to the floor panel support. You should connect the coaxial cable to the antenna module wire harness lead then reinstall the left lock pillar trim and left door sill plate.
