How to replace the drive belt on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

A 1/2-inch drive breaker bar should be inserted to the drive belt tensioner until it releases tension before belt removal. The drive belt needs removal from the tensioner pulley before using smooth movements to restore the tensioner to its starting place. First lift the vehicle before you remove the belt. Support the vehicle while working. The installation process requires the drive belt to pass through every pulley except the drive belt tensioner pulley which happens before lowering the vehicle. A 1/2 inch drive breaker bar needs to go into the drive belt tensioner then you push down on the tensioner to allow feeding the belt around the tensioner pulley. Implement tension on the belt and establish proper routing that confirms the belt fits correctly into all the pulleys. Return the tensioner back to its original place while it applies tension to the drive belt. Exam the installed belt for correct path and position before starting the engine to evaluate the belt's proper working condition.
