2008 Chevrolet Cobalt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fan shroud on 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: The first step to replace the Fan Shroud requires pulling out the cooling fan assembly which is attached to the vehicle. First mark the locations of cooling fan blades on the cooling Fan Motor shaft by drawing scribe marks before removing and discarding the cooling Fan Blade retaining clips. To proceed with the operation detach the cooling Fan Blade followed by removing the cooling Fan Motor bolts which will allow the cooling Fan Motor to separate from the rest of the components. Installation starts with attaching the cooling Fan Motor along with its bolts before tightening them to 8 n.m (70 lb in). The scribe marks on the cooling Fan Blade should match the motor shaft and the new retaining clips should be used to secure the cooling Fan Blade properly in place. The process completes with installation of the cooling fan assembly into its original position in the vehicle.
