2008 Chevrolet Equinox Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2008 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: Shortly before A/C accumulator replacement the refrigerant must be recovered. Front bumper fascia release should commence alongside removal of the bolt fixing the A/C accumulator mounting clamp to the condenser before separating the clamp and lower A/C accumulator bolt from the condenser. Position protective caps onto the condenser to stop desiccant saturation and contamination after you remove the A/C accumulator from its position. To install this component start by eliminating protective caps and subsequently insert the correct dosage of polyalkylene glycol oil inside the A/C accumulator while adding new O-rings. The installation sequence begins with fitting the A/C accumulator onto the condenser before installing the lower A/C accumulator bolt while tightening it to 6.5 N.m (58 lb in). Proceed with installing the A/C accumulator mounting clamp along with its bolt while securing both to 4.2 N.m (37 lb in), then reinstall the front bumper fascia. After the installation process finish, evacuate the A/C system before applying air pressure to it. At this point conduct leak tests of the affected A/C joints with the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
