2008 Chevrolet HHR Drive Belt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the drive belt on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?
A: Starting the replacement of the Drive Belt requires removal of the engine splash shield. The accessory belt tensioner unloader (J 44811) should be installed on the Drive Belt tensioner before counterclockwise rotation to release spring tension. After separating the Drive Belt from its position under the tensioner and around accessory drive pulleys users should extract the belt entirely. Set the new Drive Belt properly on all accessory drive pulleys except the tensioner. Through the use of the accessory belt tensioner unloader (J 44811) you should rotate the tensioner counterclockwise to free the spring tension before placing the Drive Belt under the tensioner. After placing the belt correctly position under tension the tensioner clockwise until the tool is free to be removed. The Drive Belt installation process requires you to first check its alignment with all accessory drive pulleys before reinstalling the engine splash shield.
