    A: To replace the Rack And Pinion (L61 and LE5), start by turning the steering wheel to the straight ahead and lock it. Pry off the front tire and wheel assemblies. Next, take off both Rack And Pinion outer tie rod end nuts and dispose of, make sure not to use a wedge type tool for separation. Use the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J 24319-B) off the Rack And Pinion outer tie end to the steering knuckles. Removal of intermediate Steering Shaft bolt at the Rack And Pinion and the disposal of the bolt followed by separation of the intermediate Steering Shaft from the Rack And Pinion. Next, go to remove the transmission rear mount, Rack And Pinion bolts, and pull out the Rack And Pinion from the vehicle from the left wheelhouse. In installation, mount the new Rack And Pinion through the left wheelhouse opening, fix the Rack And Pinion bolts taking care that the screw is attached at a torque of 110 n.m (81 lb ft). Reinstall the transmission rear mount, and attach the intermediate Steering Shaft to the Rack And Pinion, fix a new intermediate Steering Shaft bolt with the torque of 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Connect the Rack And Pinion outer tie rod ends to the steering knuckles and fasten them with new nuts; tighten them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) more 90 degrees. Finally, install the front tire and wheel assemblies and adjust the front toe.
