How to Safely Replace a Fuel Level Sensor on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

Remove the Fuel Pump module before replacing the Fuel Level Sensor. Caution must be exercised because fuel vapors can collect in confined spaces such as a trunk. Employ forced air ventilation like a fan outside the trunk, cap or plug fill ups of the fuel systems to reduce generation of vapors, clean spills of fuels right away, keep away from sparks or anything that can make an ignition, and use warnings to indicate that fuel system work is underway. Next extract both bailing tabs outward with the help of two flat-bladed tools while simultaneously lifting the level sensor. Then using a tiny bladed tool, push in the electrical terminals while pulling them out. To install, push in the electrical terminals and make sure they're secured and then guide the level sensor until the locking tabs snap, last put on the Fuel Pump module.
