2008 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?
A: To remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, first drain the cooling system and depending on the situation may remove the intake manifold cover and the exhaust crossover. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector and remove the ECT sensor. When installing the new ECT sensor, use the correct part number for the application and thread the threads with sealer GM P/N 13246004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent. Mount the ECT sensor and tighten it to 20 N.m (15 lb ft), reconnect the ECT, and then reinstall the cable by itself. Next, you had to reinstall the intake manifold cover if it was removed, exhaust crossover, and top off the cooling system as described for the models appropriate.
