The replacement procedure begins by unfastening the cable from its bracket and from the retainer on the floor panel while 4wd vehicles require the removal of retainers on the Transfer Case as well. The cable grommet should pass through the floor panel and then the vehicle should lower to its original position. After that step remove the console while also taking out carpet and front mat from the driver's side. Unfasten the Shift Cable from the ball stud on the floor control then extract the cable from the floor shift control assembly.
