How to replace the front side door check link on 2009 Cadillac SRX?

First remove the front side door trim panel as the first step in replacing the door check link. Start by pulling back the forward half of the water deflector which is attached to the door panel in order to reach the door check link. First uninstall the door check link from its mounting points between door nuts to body bolt and door to door check link before extracting it from the door cavity. Begin by placing the door check link within the door before implementing fastener safety procedures during installation. Secure the door check link nuts by torquing them to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Connect the door check link arm to the front body hinge pillar bolt while tightening it to 9 Nm (80 lb in access). Reinstall the door trim panel along with the water deflector at the end of the procedure.
