You should deactivate the sir system before starting the replacement process. Next you should take off the protective trim over the Steering Column. First locate the retaining screws on the multifunction switch and then disconnect its electrical wires before you take out the switch. To install the multifunction switch properly you need to join its power connections and position the switch on top of the Steering Column. Put the retaining screws in place and fasten them at 7 nm torque value (62 inch pounds). Put back the Steering Column trim covers and turn on sir mode at the end of the process.
