• Q: How to replace the windshield wiper arm on 2009 Cadillac STS?

  A: Start by setting the wipers to park position then open the hood panel. Each wiper should match its indicator mark during installation: the driver wiper lines up with orange at the Wiper Blade tip by the lower center windshield and the passenger wiper matches orange at the right Wiper Blade tip by the lower right windshield. Take off the spine cover (2,5) from free bolts and detach bolts (3,6) from the wiper drive apparatus. Slowly attach or disconnect the liftgate/hood assist rod at its end to prevent harm to the system. To take off the driver Wiper Arm remove the upper hood support beams from their ball studs and tilt the hood downward while placing it against the air inlet grille. Secure the Wiper Arm onto the Wiper Arm drive spindle keeping it stable during tightening until the nut reaches 35 nm (26 lb ft). Connect the upper hood supports to their stud attachments and place the Wiper Arm rubber caps in position.
