2009 Cadillac XLR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2009 Cadillac XLR?
A: You must begin by turning off the ignition then draining the coolant until it sits below the ect sensor level. Remove the supercharger assembly after which you should disconnect the ect sensor harness connector and extract the ect sensor from the right-hand Cylinder Head. The ect sensor installation requires a thread coating of sealer before you tighten it to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Reconnect the ect sensor harness connector before placing back the supercharger assembly. Finally, refill the coolant system. All replacement parts should be the correct model number for the installation and you need to apply the defined torque values to prevent damage.
