2009 Cadillac XLR Radiator fan Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud without PWM on 2009 Cadillac XLR?
A: The Radiator support needs to be removed first for a Radiator fan and shroud installation without pwm technology. The wiring harness of the engine must be disconnected from the Radiator fan shroud and the surge tank outlet hose needs to be detached from the retaining clips which secure the shroud. After vehicle elevation and support application proceed by removing the stabilizer shaft. The Radiator retaining tabs must be separated from its components which includes lifting up the Radiator fan and shroud after disconnecting the Radiator fan electrical connector and lower transmission oil cooler line from the Radiator. Discard the Radiator fan together with its mounting shroud. Start by installing the Radiator fan and shroud to the correct position on the Radiator before putting on all components. Rejoin the Radiator fan electrical connector and both lower transmission oil cooler line and stabilizer shaft to their correct positions. The installation begins with lowering the vehicle before attaching the surge tank outlet hose to retaining clips on the Radiator fan shroud and reconnecting the engine wiring harness to its place on the shroud. Finally, install the Radiator support.
