2009 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2009 Chevrolet Impala?
A: The first step for Camshaft Position Sensor replacement requires removal of the Power Steering Pump. Remove the cmp sensor electrical connector from the camshaft position then remove the cmp sensor bolt followed by the sensor. Check the sensor o-ring for damage and inspect for signs of wear as well as cracks or leakage only when you do not plan to replace the sensor. Before installing the cmp sensor apply clean engine oil to the new o-ring which must be replaced if it shows damage. The installation of the cmp sensor bolt must be secured at 10 nm (89 lb in) followed by reconnecting the cmp sensor electrical connector. Reposition the Power Steering Pump at the end of the procedure.
