How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 1 Sensor 1 on 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Prior to replacing the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 1 Sensor 1 first lift and properly secure the vehicle. On a 2-wheel drive (2WD) vehicle technicians must first remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer followed by separating the HO2S electrical pigtail connector from the engine wiring harness' electrical connector. Disconnect the CPA retainer on a 4-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle before removing the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the HO2S pigtail electrical connector. First disconnect the HO2S pigtail electrical connector clip from its fuel line bracket location before removing the HO2S. The installation of a reused sensor may require application of anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or equivalent on its threads because HO2S threads use specialized compound to make removal easier. Tighten HO2S to 42 Nm (31 lb ft). When working on a 4WD vehicle install the HO2S pigtail electrical connector clip onto the fuel line bracket before attaching the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the HO2S pigtail electrical connector and closing the CPA retainer. When working on a 2WD vehicle position the HO2S pigtail electrical connector to the engine wiring harness electrical connector before you attach the CPA retainer. Finally, lower the vehicle.
