How to service the Exhaust Hanger on 2010 Buick Lucerne?

The process of servicing exhaust system hangers starts with raising and supporting the vehicle in place. Start by removing the exhaust hanger to the rear suspension support bracket bolt after which you should apply suitable lubricant to the exhaust hanger rod for better removal. Detach the exhaust pipe by pulling on its hanger towards the outside before removing the rear exhaust hanger to hanger bracket nut. Apply lubrication to the rear hanger rod before pulling it away from the tail pipe hanger rod. Soak the rear hanger rod and inner diameter of the rear exhaust hanger with soapy fluid before pushing the exhaust hanger onto the tail pipe hanger rod to final position towards the rear exhaust hanger bracket. Fasten the hanger bracket nut to the rear exhaust hanger until its torque reaches 30 Nm (22 lb ft). Apply a soapy solution to the exhaust pipe hanger rod and inner diameter of the center exhaust hanger then push the exhausted hanger onto the rod before hanging it at the rear suspension support bracket bolt until it reaches 30 Nm tightness (22 lb ft).
