The first step in FE7 Rear Axle Lower Control Arm replacement starts with removing the rear suspension support assembly. Begin by removing the stabilizer link bolt. In some cases you must also handle the hub and bearing. First remove all support bracket bolts and control arm nuts and bolts that secure the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly to extract the control arm. When installing the control arm nuts make sure to tighten them on a vehicle which rests unsupported on its wheels at normal operating height. Begin installation by screwing in the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly and adding the hub and bearing as needed. Use a new stabilizer link bolt together with its nut then torque them to 15 Nm (11 lbs ft). Position the reversed rear suspension support assembly along with the support bracket bolts in their proper place. Perform a trim height check after vehicle lowering while you tighten the control arm nuts to 149 Nm (110 lb ft).
