    A: The first step to replace the front Brake Disc on model je5 and jl9 vehicles consists of lifting your vehicle and placing supports below it. You must remove the tire and wheel to start the work. Use heavy mechanic wire to hold up the brake caliper securely before undoing its bracket bolts. First take away the brake caliper and bracket assembly. Note the Brake Disc position regarding wheel studs then remove the Brake Disc screw before taking out the Brake Disc itself. Clean the hub and axle flange as well as the Brake Disc surfaces using the j-42450-a hub resurfacing kit and j-41013 rotor dressing. Check the mating areas before putting the Brake Disc into place and keep both parts straight using their marks. Use a torque wrench to fix the Brake Disc screw at 124 pound inch torque settings. To test brake system fixes take the actual lro measure of the disc assembly before adjusting if results do not match stated values make needed corrections. Set up work space to clean and thread lower caliper bracket bolts thoroughly with denatured alcohol. Afterward apply thread locker gm p/n 12345493 (Canada P/N 10953488) to the bolts for 2/3 of their lengths and allow 10 minutes drying time. Retain the brake caliper and bracket assembly on the knuckle before tightening the brake caliper bracket bolts to 130 nm (96 lb ft) and restarting the wheel assembly. When you install new brake parts such as brakes pads or replace the discs you should perform pad and disc burnishing.
