How to Replace the Front Brake Disc (JE5, JL9) on 2009 Cadillac STS?

Get the vehicle elevated onto axle stands while keeping it stable. Then take off the wheel and tire set before the job. Before handling the brake caliper securely loop it with strong mechanic wire to keep the hydraulic brake hose safe from damage. You need to matchmark Brake Disc position before taking off the brake caliper assembly including bracket. Afterwards remove Brake Disc screw. To install the new Brake Disc start by cleaning both the hub/axle flange and the Brake Disc using the specified resurfacing kits j-42450-a and j-41013. Make sure the mating surfaces are clear of contaminants and install the Brake Disc according to the matchmarks to position it correctly before fastening it with the Brake Disc screw at 14 nm (124 lb in). During brake system repairs measure the assembled lro of the disc to test performance; if results exceed set values take needed adjustments to bring it into range. Clean the caliper bolt threads thoroughly and apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canada P/N 10953488) to 2/3 of the threads so it can cure for around 10 minutes until you install the bolts. Put the brake caliper and its bracket onto the knuckle and fasten the bracket bolts to 130 nm (96 lb ft) torque. After that, replace the tire and wheel assembly. Optional: prepare discs and pads for use.
