How to remove and replace the rear brake caliper bracket on 2009 Cadillac STS?

You should support the brake caliper using mechanic's wire after detaching it from the bracket point and keep the brake hose connected to avoid damage and leaks. Use a wrench to take off brake buffer and buffer clamp components attached to the Brake Caliper Bracket then its bolts. Check the brake mounting parts and switch the Brake Caliper Bracket when you see signs of breaking or damage. Clean the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and holes with denatured alcohol and apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canada P/N 10953488) to 2/3 of bolt length on the lower caliper bracket bolts. Ensure no gaps form during application. Apply threadlocker on the bolts of the Brake Caliper Bracket and give it 10 minutes to cure. Afterward, bolt on the bracket following 120 nm (88 lb ft) tightening. Put the brake pads in place on the Brake Caliper Bracket and snap on the Brake Pad retainers before setting back the brake caliper.
