How to replace the rear brake line (JE5, JL9) on 2009 Cadillac STS?

Begin performing brake hose replacement by lifting and securing the vehicle for work. Take off the left tire and wheel before cleaning dirt and rubbish from both brake hose and pipe fittings. Use a cap to seal the brake pipe fitting while you take the brake hose apart from the crossover pipe fitting. You need to insert a flat tool to remove the brake hose retainer bolt from the hose and take out the brake hose from the frame bracket. You should disconnect the brake caliper fixturing bolt while plugging the integral inlet port to avoid fluid loss. Slightly tap the brake hose fitting bolt thread on a cloth to pull out the gaskets for disposal while handling only 2 copper brake hose gaskets. Put the brake caliper inlet port plug off and set new copper brake hose gaskets before assembling the parts. Fit the brake hose components including new gaskets and the fitting bolt onto the brake hose. Connect the fitting bolt to the brake caliper and tighten it to 50 nm (37 lb ft) without allowing the brake hose to twist or bend. Fits the brake hose to the frame bracket before attaching the brake hose retainer to it. Put the brake pipe fitting onto the brake hose end and fix it with a torque of 18 nm (13 lb ft). Finish the brake system bleed then put on the left tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
