How to replace the front brake line (J56) on 2010 Cadillac STS?

First elevate and stabilize the vehicle while preparing to work on the brake hose on the front side. Remove dust from brake hose connectors and bracket bolt areas before you detach the wire sensors from their retaining clips on the brake hose bracket. Release the brake hose bracketbolts and unplug the brake pipe connecting piece from the hose to protect the fluid. A flat tool will detach the brake hose retainer while you slide the hose free from its bracket. Lift the brake hose fitting bolt from the caliper to remove the brake hose while plugging the port to maintain the fluid. Press the threaded end of the brake hose fitting bolt onto a shop towel sitting on a hard surface until the gaskets come off. Get rid of the two copper gaskets. Install the front brake hose bracket bolts to 14 nm while replacing the two copper brake hose gaskets. Replace the brake hose assembly including new gaskets and bolt onto the brake hose before attaching the bolt to the brake caliper at 34 nm (25 lb ft). Fit the brake hose bracket section when the tread end points to the Brake Line and link the brake hose retainer piece to the hose assembly. Mate the brake pipe fitting cap to the brake hose and fasten it with 18 nm of torque (13 lb ft). Reinstall the wheel speed sensor wiring retainers onto the mounting bracket then finish the braking system purge before putting back the tire and wheel underline the car.
