Place a rubber plug to the brake hose to caliper bolt hole of brake caliper. For installation, secure the front brake hose bracket to steering knuckle mounting bolts and tighten them at 14 nm (10 ft. Lbs.). Remove the rubber plug from the brake hose to the caliper bolt hole, assemble the brake hose , new copper brake hose gaskets , and brake hose bolt to the brake hose assuring to use new gaskets. Mount the brake hose to caliper bolt on the brake caliper and tighten to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Install the brake hose to the brake hose bracket and brace hose retainer to the brake hose, make sure the braked hose retainer has the tapered end facing the pipe. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end and couple the brake pipe fitting with the brake hose tightening it to 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Replace the twisted retaining straps for the wheel speed sensor wiring harnesses on the brake hose bracket, bleed hydraulic brake system, reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, and lower the vehicle.

  You need to use double-walled steel brake pipe with J 45405 Pipe Flaring Tool Kit to repair brake pipes effectively. Begin by watching the area of the pipe to be replaced then remove it from retainers as required. To produce pipe flares you need 6.35 mm (0.250 in) additional length for 4.76 mm (3/16 in) tube, 9.50 mm (0.374 in) for 6.35 mm (1/4 in) tube, and 12.67 mm (0.499 in) for 7.94 mm (5/16 in) tube. Use the pipe cutter from J 45405 to cut the brake pipe straight while removing the nylon coating from one end for flaring it using the proper tool in the kit. Bevel both the inside and outside of the pipe using the J 45405 de-burring tool then attach tube nuts to the brake line components. Clean the brake pipe and J 45405 tool from all debris before opening the die clamping screw to select a set for flaring operations. Put the finished pipe section into the die cage then fasten the tightening screw. Form the flare by pushing the forming mandrel through. Measure the brake pipe flare after flaring to ensure proper shape and diameter. It should be 6.74-7.10 mm (0.265-0.279 in) for 4.76 mm (3/16 in) diameter pipe, 8.57-9.27 mm (0.344-0.358 in) for 6.35 mm (1/4 in) diameter pipe, and 10.42-10.79 mm (0.410-0.425 in) for 7.94 mm (5/16 in) diameter pipe. Bend the new pipe properly with brake pipe tools when needed then space it 19 mm away from moving parts. Secure the brake pipe to designated retainers. End the hydraulic brake bleeding process by examining brake pipe flares using a leak detector before and after pressing the brake pedal.
