2010 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the heater core in a hatchback on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The first step to replace a Heater Core in a hatchback requires one to raise the hood then disconnect the negative Battery Cable while following safety protocols. Take the instrument panel assembly out from the vehicle before removing the heater/air distribution case. Follow next to remove the linkage screw from both the lower Heater Core cover post and the linkage lever. Note down the position of all levers before reassembly. Securely maintain the case without harming linkage levers while you use a screwdriver to remove cover screws securing the Heater Core before gently removing the lower Heater Core cover from the assembly maintaining the sealant. Remove the screw and bracket clamp securing Heater Core lines on the case before taking out the spring clamp holding the Heater Core body to the case and eventually extracting the Heater Core. The Heater Core installation requires insertion of the component into its place inside the case followed by tightening of the Heater Core lines with retaining bracket clamp and screw application and finally securing the Heater Core body with the retaining spring clamp. The Heater Core cover mounting channel flange needs new application of sealant before installing the cover followed by secure retention with screws. Affix the linkage lever to the cover post through the screw before testing that both heater/air distribution case doors work correctly. Put back the heater/air distribution case and instrument panel assembly followed by filling the cooling system and reattaching the negative cable.
