2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: The first step for replacing the air conditioning condenser involves removing the charged air cooler outlet pipe. First recover the refrigerant and then elevate and support the vehicle until work begins. First disconnect the compressor hose and condenser tube from the condenser unit before you remove its bolts. Use a slide to move the condenser downward which will release the upper mounting tabs from Radiator contact while you remove both right and left Radiator side baffles. When installing a new condenser add its specified pag oil directly into the unit. After replacing the right and left Radiator side baffles insert the condenser and align the upper mounting tabs within the Radiator before securing the condenser bolts at a torque of 10 nm (88 lb in). Secure the compressor hose to the condenser using a new washer then tighten the bolt to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Repeat this process with a new washer on the condenser tube. After lowering the vehicle install the charged air cooler outlet pipe. Through the j 39400-a halogen leak detector conduct a leak test on the fittings before evacuating and recharging the refrigerant system.
