The first necessary step before replacing the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly requires dismantling the charge air cooler inlet pipe. Next, recover the refrigerant. Remove the compressor hose nut from the evaporator hose before discarding the seal washer. You should remove the condenser tube together with the evaporator hose from the thermal expansion valve (TXV) then discard the seal washers. Apply new sealing washers onto condenser tube and evaporator hose fittings after which connect the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the txv. Avoid excessive force when installing the txv nut because it should receive an ultimate torque setting of 20 nm (15 lb ft). Fasten the compressor hose and its corresponding nut onto the evaporator hose by applying a torque of 20 nm (15 lb ft) while using the new seal washer. Put back the charge air cooler inlet pipe before performing evacuation and refrigerant charging on the system. Conduct a leak test of the fittings by using j 39400-a halogen leak detector.
